I’m managing an illness or injury

Sometimes a physical injury or medical condition can keep you from participating in your regular day-to-day activities.

Connect with an Accolade Health Assistant® to learn how this change may affect your benefits.

Medical, dental, and vision

While you’re on disability leave:

  • You must pay your employee contributions directly to Alight. Alight will bill you directly at the home address listed in Workday. If you fail to pay your premiums, your benefits will be canceled.
  • Your coverage continues up to a maximum of seven months. You may then be eligible to continue coverage under COBRA. You may also qualify for lower monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs by buying coverage through the health insurance marketplace.

Flexible Spending Accounts

You can:

  • Pay for your FSA deductions while you’re on leave.
  • Stop your contributions.

Life and accident insurance

If you are disabled for more than six months, you may be able to continue your optional life insurance coverage at no cost to you under a premium waiver, subject to the insurance carrier’s ongoing approval.
