Time Off [1]
Time off gives you time away from work to rest, relax, recover from illness or take care of personal matters. For more information, go to Insight [2].
Annual Leave
Regular, full-time employees accrue 20 working days of annual paid leave each year (January to December) based upon your hire date. Regular, part-time employees will be entitled to annual leave on a prorated basis. You may be eligible to borrow up to 5 days of annual leave.

There’s not a limit on the number of annual leave days you can carry over from year to year; however, you are encouraged to utilise your accrued annual leave annually to enjoy a break from work. Annual leave may not be cashed out at the end of the year. However, if you leave Intuit, accrued annual leave not used will be paid to you.
Annual leave will continue to accrue while on annual leave and paid personal/carer’s leave. Leave will not accrue while on unpaid leave, unless it is community service (WCGB) leave. If you are on annual leave during an official Company statutory holiday, the day will count as a holiday and not as annual leave.
If you become ill during a scheduled annual leave, you may be able to count those days as sick days. Upon your request and accompanied by a doctor’s note to Human Resources, annual leave will be credited back to you.
Applying for Leave
You will need to seek approval for your annual leave request from your manager prior to entering it in Workday [3]. Please submit your request as soon as possible before the date of absence. The approval of your annual leave is based on Intuit’s operational needs and the requests for annual leave by other employees.
In the case of extended unauthorized leave, Intuit may consider that you have abandoned your employment and Intuit may take the necessary steps to terminate your employment.
Birthday
Take a day to celebrate you! Your birthday counts as a paid holiday. The day off must be taken within two weeks (before or after) of your birthday date. Just be sure to coordinate your time off with your manager.
Compassionate
You are eligible for five days off in the case of a death in your immediate family, which includes step relations and in-laws. You also receive one day off if your pet (dog, cat or bird) passes away.
This leave is paid.
Family and Domestic Violence
You can take five days of paid time off every year, based on your hire date. This time can be used to deal with the impact of family and domestic violence, such as planning for your safety or the safety of a family member, attending court hearings, accessing police services, and seeking medical attention or psychological counseling.
Family Support Time
We know that having an elderly family member or another dependent who you need to care for adds additional stress to your life. To help you manage these kinds of family situations, we provide four weeks of paid time away per fiscal year for you to provide care and support for a qualified family member (spouse/domestic partner, child, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law or sibling).
Due to COVID-19, we're temporarily expanding this program to address challenges related to child care. You can use family support time for child care for dependents under age 18. This includes if your child care provider, schools or camps are closed, or if your child is sick or needs other care such as school support or supervision. This option will expire on July 31, 2022.
Jury
You will be granted jury duty as requested by the courts.
Jury service leaves of absence are granted for the duration of required jury service.
You are paid for the duration of the jury duty.
Long Service Leave
You are able to take time off for a period of relaxation after a certain number of years of service.
This leave is paid.
Personal and Carer
You receive 10 paid personal/carer’s days per calendar year (January-December) which carry over from year to year. Personal/carer’s leave can be used for personal illness and injury or to provide care and support for a family member.
Sick Time
If you’re sick or injured and can’t do your usual work, you can apply for JobSeeker Payment [4].
Unpaid Carer
You are eligible for 2 unpaid days per occasion if a member of your immediate family or household requires care or support due to a personal illness/injury or an unexpected emergency.
This leave is unpaid.
Volunteer Time
Volunteering is a rewarding way to live our We Care & Give Back (WCGB) value. Make a difference in your community by sharing the best of Intuit and yourself today.
Eligible employees may request paid time off, up to five business days per calendar year, to volunteer during normal work hours.
