Get the Facts
During the current coronavirus outbreak, it’s important to stay up to date on the latest information, like safety measures to protect yourself against COVID-19 and steps to take if you think you’re sick. You can find a lot of this information on the World Health Organization website.
Call Before Going for Care
To help ensure you get the right care and limit unnecessary exposure to others, the best thing to do is call your doctor before you go.
With so much uncertainty at the moment, you’ll want to be sure to stock up on your essential medications. Be sure to take advantage of Pharmacy at Your Doorstep to get medicines delivered to your home.
Short-Term COVID-19 Insurance
Corona Kavach is short-term medical insurance offered in addition to Group Medical Insurance (base policy) and applicable only up to December 19, 2021. The policy covers only COVID-19 treatment for employees and their dependents (spouse/partner, children and parents), with coverage of INR 3 Lac per person.
Enrolling and Making Changes
Only dependents who are already covered/enrolled under the Group Medical Insurance (base policy) will be covered under Corona Kavach. If you wish to enroll dependents (spouse/partner, children, parents) who are not covered under the base policy, the premium for those dependents will be borne by you. As parents-in-laws are not covered under the Group Medical Insurance policy, they are not eligible to be covered under the Corona Kavach policy. Following are the plan/coverage details:
|Group Medical Insurance (Base Policy)||Corona Kavach Coverage and Premium|
|Plan A (employee only)||Covers only employee (premium fully paid by Intuit)|
|Plan B (employee, spouse/partner, up to three children)||Covers only employee, spouse/partner and up to three children (premium fully paid by Intuit)|
|Plan C (employee, parents)||Covers only employee and parents (premium fully paid by Intuit)|
|Plan D (employee, spouse/partner, up to three children and parents)||Covers only employee, spouse/partner, up to three children and parents (premium for employee and parents fully paid by Intuit; top-up premium for spouse/partner and up to three children to be paid by employee)|
Note: If you currently have Plan A, B or C under the base policy and wish to cover the same dependents under the Corona Kavach policy, there is no action required. The dependents covered under the base policy will be enrolled automatically under Corona Kavach.
However, if you have Plan D under the base policy and you do not review your enrolment and take action through the Medi Assist portal, only you and your parents will be covered under the Corona Kavach policy. Be sure to review your dependents and consider enrolling your spouse and children (premium paid by you) under the Corona Kavach policy.
If you are a new hire, you will receive an email from Medi Assist inviting you to enroll in the Corona Kavach policy. You will need to enroll your dependents in the benefit within the 10-day enrolment window. If you take no action during this period, your dependents’ coverage will be per the above table, but you will not be able to make any changes to your plan or add dependents after the enrolment window closes. You can enroll your new dependent if you have a life event (marriage/birth or adoption of a child) within 30 calendar days of the start date of such an event by raising an HR Connect case. Coverage will last until the end of the policy term, which is December 19, 2021.
The premium for the Corona Kavach policy is not prorated and should be paid in full. Following is the premium of coverage of INR 300,000 for the policy term up to December 19, 2021. The premium will be deducted from your salary.
|Age of Insured||Premium (Including GST) Per Person Up to December 19, 2021|
Note: The premium you pay is not refunded if you leave Intuit. The policy is not transferrable or portable upon leaving Intuit.
