During the current coronavirus outbreak, it’s important to stay up to date on the latest information, like safety measures to protect yourself against COVID-19 and steps to take if you think you’re sick. You can find a lot of this information on the World Health Organization website. It’s also important to know about the Intuit benefits that are here to support you and your family.
Take Time Off
If you need support during this time, you are eligible for the following kinds of leave. Both these leaves are being offered temporarily, in response to the COVID-19 situation:
- 28 days of paid leave – Based on Karnataka Government’s recent guidance, Intuit will provide 28 days of paid leave (excluding holidays/weekends) to any India employee/intern who tests positive for COVID-19. If you test positive, please contact the HR Connect Team and provide a copy of your test results so they can enter this time off in Workday. This leave will be beyond your Privilege, Sick and Casual Leave.
- Supplemental sick time off (global) – If you need to take time off for other reasons, visit Intuit’s microsite to learn about taking time off as per the terms and conditions in the Supplemental Sick Time Off (Global) policy.
Get Covered for COVID-19 Testing and Treatment
When private/public sector hospitals are allowed to do testing and treatment for COVID-19 and charge for it, this will be covered under our insurance policy for Intuit employees and their eligible insured dependents.
If you have a doctor’s prescription for COVID-19 testing, you can claim it under OPD reimbursement. Similarly, any hospitalisation expense, if prescribed by a doctor, is eligible for reimbursement under our Medical Cover and Hospitalisation Plan.
Submit OPD and Hospitalization Claims by July 31, 2020
Given the current scenario, you can now submit the hard copies of OPD and hospitalization claims by July 31, 2020, irrespective of the bill date. As you may be aware, it is mandatory to submit hard copies of bills and prescriptions/reports for claims processing, as per IRDA rules.
Hold Off on Your Annual Health Check-Up
As per a directive from government authorities, hospitals/medical centers are only serving critical/emergency cases. Preventive health check-ups are considered non-essential services during this difficult time. Given this, health screening appointments will be cancelled for the next few weeks. We will notify you as soon as the service resumes.
Refill Your Prescriptions
With so much uncertainty at the moment, you’ll want to be sure to stock up on your essential medications. Be sure to take advantage of Pharmacy at Your Doorstep to get medicines delivered to your home.
Consider a Provident Fund Withdrawal
Based on the recent amendment to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) Scheme related to the COVID-19 outbreak, as of March 28, 2020, eligible employees can seek a nonrefundable advance (withdrawal) of up to three months’ basic salary. Alternatively, eligible employees can withdraw up to 75% of the amount standing to employees’ credit in the EPF account, whichever is less. If you wish to apply for a withdrawal, reach out to the India payroll team or HR Connect.
