Vacation Accrual Schedule

If you're a full-time employee regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours a week*, you accrue vacation at a specific rate per pay period, based on your Intuit anniversary date. You can find this date, your Continuous Service Date, in your profile in Workday.

Start date through day before first anniversary

You earn: Up to a maximum of:
80 hours per year or 2 weeks (3.076 hours per pay period) Not applicable

First anniversary through day before fifth anniversary

You earn: Up to a maximum of:
120 hours per year or 3 weeks (4.62 hours per pay period) Two times your annual accrual amount, up to 240 hours

Fifth anniversary through day before 15th anniversary

You earn: Up to a maximum of:
160 hours per year or 4 weeks (6.154 hours per pay period) Two times your annual accrual amount, up to 320 hours

15th anniversary and beyond

You earn: Up to a maximum of:
One extra day per year of service to a maximum of 5 weeks per year 320 hours

* Employees who are scheduled to work between 20 hours to 40 hours will accrue vacation on a pro-rated basis based on their work schedule.

Example: If you're scheduled to work 20 hours a week at 0-1 years, you will accrue 40 hours per year or 1 week at 1.538 hours per pay period (half of a full-time employee).

Vacation Cash-Out Benefit

You can "sell" or cash out a portion of your unused vacation time. You may cash out the same number of hours (or less) as vacation time that you take. For example, if you take 24 hours of vacation, you can cash out 24 hours (or less) in the pay period that you are away.

Any employee with a minimum of 16 hours accrued vacation is eligible. The minimum amount of vacation time to be paid out is eight hours (or a full day equivalent). The maximum amount eligible for payout would be equal to one half of the employee's eligible vacation accrual.

Exempt and Non-exempt employees who request the vacation "cash out" should request both the vacation time to be taken and for the "cash out" through Workday. You will need to enter one request for vacation and a second request for vacation cash out.

Payroll will process the vacation "cash out" in the same pay period as the employee's scheduled vacation.
