Time Off [1]
Time off gives you time away from work to rest, relax, recover from illness or take care of personal matters. For more information, go to Insight [2].
Bereavement
You are eligible for five days off in the case of a death in your immediate family, which includes step relations and in-laws. You also receive one day off if your pet (dog, cat or bird) passes away.
This leave is paid.
Birthday
Take a day to celebrate you! Your birthday counts as a paid holiday. The day off must be taken within two weeks (before or after) of your birthday date. Just be sure to coordinate your time off with your manager.
Crime Victim & Judicial Proceedings
You are eligible to take time off if you need to participate in criminal or civil legal proceedings.
This leave is unpaid, but accrued vacation may be used.
Domestic Violence
You can take paid time off if you, your family or a household member is a victim of domestic violence. You can use the time from work to get help to protect your and your children’s health, safety or welfare; obtain a restraining order or other court order; seek medical attention or services from a domestic violence shelter, program or rape crisis center; seek psychological counseling; or receive safety planning related to domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.
Family Support Time
We know that having an elderly family member or another dependent who you need to care for adds additional stress to your life. To help you manage these kinds of family situations, we provide four weeks of paid time away per fiscal year for you to provide care and support for a qualified family member (spouse/domestic partner, child, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law or sibling).
Due to COVID-19, we're temporarily expanding this program to address challenges related to child care. You can use family support time for child care for dependents under age 18. This includes if your child care provider, schools or camps are closed, or if your child is sick or needs other care such as school support or supervision. This option will expire on July 31, 2022.
Jury Duty
You will be granted jury duty as requested by the courts. Jury duty leaves of absence are granted for the duration of required jury service.
You are paid for the duration of the jury duty.
Parental
All parents can take 16 weeks within 12 months of their child's birth, adoption or foster care placement.
This leave is paid.
Sick Time
Take time off to focus on your physical or mental health. At the end of each pay period, you accrue one hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked. There is no cap on the number of hours accrued each year and any unused sick time rolls over year to year.
"Hours worked" includes regular hours, overtime, paid holidays, WCGB hours and parental time off. All other time off and leaves are not considered hours worked and will not be counted for sick time accrual purposes.
Vacation
In today’s fast-paced world, vacation provides the opportunity to slow down, relax and recharge. Just be sure to coordinate all time off with your manager.

Vacation Accrual Schedule
If you're a full-time employee regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours a week*, you accrue vacation at a specific rate per pay period, based on your Intuit anniversary date. You can find this date, your Continuous Service Date, in your profile in Workday.
Start date through day before second anniversary | |
---|---|
You earn: | Up to a maximum of: |
120 hours per year or 3 weeks (4.62 hours per pay period) | 240 hours |
Second anniversary through day before fifth anniversary | |
---|---|
You earn: | Up to a maximum of: |
160 hours per year or 4 weeks (6.154 hours per pay period) | 320 hours |
Fifth anniversary through day before 15th anniversary | |

You earn: | Up to a maximum of: |
200 hours per year or 5 weeks (7.69 hours per pay period) | 320 hours |
15th anniversary and beyond | |

240 hours per year or 6 weeks (9.23 hours per pay period) | 360 hours |
* Employees who are scheduled to work between 20 hours to 40 hours will accrue vacation on a pro-rated basis based on their work schedule.
Example: If you're scheduled to work 20 hours a week at 0–1 years, you will accrue 60 hours per year or 1.5 per week at 2.31 hours per pay period (half of a full-time employee).
Vacation Cash-Out Benefit
You can "sell" or cash out a portion of your unused vacation time. You may cash out the same number of hours (or less) as vacation time that you take. For example, if you take 24 hours of vacation, you can cash out 24 hours (or less) in the pay period that you are away.
Any employee with a minimum of 16 hours accrued vacation is eligible. The minimum amount of vacation time to be paid out is eight hours (or a full day equivalent). The maximum amount eligible for payout would be equal to one half of the employee's eligible vacation accrual.
Exempt and Non-exempt employees who request the vacation "cash out" should request both the vacation time to be taken and for the "cash out" through Workday. You will need to enter one request for vacation and a second request for vacation cash out.
Payroll will process the vacation "cash out" in the same pay period as the employee's scheduled vacation.
