Maybe that high school reunion is approaching, or swimsuit season is looming on the horizon. Whatever your motivation, you’re thinking it’s time to lose a pound or 20. Shedding some pounds will not only help you squeeze into those skinny jeans, but more importantly, it can also help improve your long-term health. Here are a few steps you can take to help you achieve your goal:
Make sure you drink at least 2 liters of water throughout the day. And no, sugary carbonated beverages don’t count!
3. Lose weight.
Want to shed pounds without turning your life upside down? Sign up for the Real Appeal weight loss program. It's a unique, scientifically proven program that can be customized to your specific needs. And did you know that Intuit will pay for your weight-loss program fees? It’s just another benefit of the Fit for Life Incentive.
4. Take the stairs.
Whenever you have the opportunity to get a little exercise throughout the day, take it! That means taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and stepping away from your desk at least once every two hours. Walk to refill your water bottle, stretch, or go outside to get a little fresh air.
5. Eat well.
Focus on your portions (obviously, the smaller the better) and the types of foods you’re eating. As a general rule, the closer the food is to its natural state, the better it is for you. A carrot stick? You bet! Carrot-raisin salad loaded down with lots of mayo? Maybe not. Did you know that most Intuit medical plans cover up to five visits with a nutritionist per year?
Following these five steps will have you on your way to feeling and looking great in no time.
