I'm Grieving a Death

Please accept our condolences for your loss. When you lose a loved one, you have plenty of support and resources to access for assistance.

If you are the dependent and/or beneficiary of a deceased Intuit employee, please immediately call HRConnect at 1-800-819-1620.

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance

If you are the dependent and/or beneficiary of a deceased Intuit employee:

  • Your coverage continues for one year after your loved one dies.
  • After one year, you may continue medical coverage under COBRA for 18 months at your own expense. You may also qualify for lower costs on your monthly premiums and lower out-of-pocket costs by buying coverage through the health insurance marketplace.

If you are an Intuit employee, and your dependent and/or beneficiary has died:

  • You can drop coverage for your dependent.
  • You should update your beneficiary selections on file for both the Intuit 401(k) Plan and Life Insurance.
  • If you had optional life insurance for your dependent, open a ticket with HRConnect to start the life insurance claim process.

Flexible Spending Accounts

If you are the dependent and/or beneficiary of a deceased Intuit employee:

You can submit claims for expenses incurred prior to your loved one’s death.

If you are an Intuit employee, and your dependent and/or beneficiary has died:

You can stop participating.

Savings and Retirement

If you are the dependent and/or beneficiary of a deceased Intuit employee:

  • You may be entitled to your loved one’s account balance.
  • If the Intuit employee had equity holdings (ESPP shares, stock options, or RSUs), you will receive a closing stock statement from Intuit’s stock plan administrator detailing the holdings and steps to take to ensure these assets are transferred appropriately.
